Collage Pictures – 1 May 2026. 9.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. Cost $60.00
These pictures are so much fun, they are only small, approximately 6” x 8”. They use only a small amount of fabric, and it is good if the group can share the different prints. We do a little bit of fabric painting, and the rest is just fused onto the background then framed. Here are a couple of pictures from our last class back in 2022.
New York Beauty Block – 16 May 2026. 9.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. Cost $60.00
This block will be made into either a bag or a cushion. It is foundation paper pieced. I am aiming for you to get a quarter of this design done in class, enabling you to complete it either in your regular class or at home. It measures 16” square.
P.H.D. (Projects Half Done) Workshop- 30 May 2026. 9.30 a.m.- 4.00 p.m. Cost $50.00
This class is an opportunity to get some help with a project that you may have put to one side as you weren’t sure how to continue or it may just be that you are trying to get something finished that seems to be taking a while. It is a chance to have a day of sewing away from the chores at home. These are usually very productive sessions.
Introduction to Machine Quilting – 13 June 2026. 9.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. Cost $60.00
In this class I aim to boost your confidence in machine quilting. We will use a few different methods such as grid quilting, 2 types of cross hatching, quilting using ‘Golden Threads Quilting Paper’ and free motion quilting. There is some preparation to be done at home before you come to class.
Mystery Row by Row Quilt – 27 June 2026. 10.00 a.m. Cost $15.00 Per month
This project will be run for the next 8-10 months. It has a sewing theme and will use a number of different techniques including, foundation paper piecing, English paper piecing, applique and normal piecing. I know I am asking you to trust me, as you don’t know what it is going to look like, but my past record should show you that I haven’t given you bad one yet. The quilt top will be approximately 60” x 70” without borders. I will be working on my sample of this over the school holidays so by the beginning of next term I will have a requirements list for you.
I hope there is something to tempt you there and remember, if you have any suggestions for future workshops, please let me know.
